Farewell to Canada, 28 September

After living in Canada for 15 months & visiting 7 out of 10 provinces, it's time for us to say a fond farewell to Canada. We've loved every moment here and there's no doubt that we'll come back soon!

We're now in the south of France, enjoying the balmy weather & you can keep up with our travels in Europe here - Aussies in Europe.

Here's some photos of our dear Vancouver friends...

We relaxed for a few days in Montreal & explored the city with our friend Catie! We visited the beautiful Notre Dame Basilica - the most beautiful interior I have seen! We also went to the Biodome and the Botanical Gardens.

Eastern USA, New York City, New York 16-24 September

We spent nine wonderful days in New York. The first two days were with our friends Monica & Boris on Long Island and then 7 days in mid-town right near Time Square. We were blessed with unseasonably warm weather the whole time. In our short time here we managed to see 4 musicals, a few galleries, museums & historic buildings as well as squeezing in some shopping, a trip to Staten Island, the San Gerrano festival and time in Central Park of course! I even managed to bump into my cousin, Amanda on a mid-town street, a 1 in 7 million chance - maybe I should buy a lottery ticket?

Eastern USA, NYC - Musicals

A quick summary of the musicals we watched on Broadway!

Avenue Q is an extremely funny show! This is like a naughty version of the muppets - I recommend it to anyone who wants a good laugh about the contradictions of real life.

Rent is a very moving & beautiful love story set in New York City. Note to self: bring tissues!

The Producers is a Mel Brooks masterpiece about two Producers who want to make a musical flop and run away with their investors money. They pick "Springtime for Hitler" but will their scheme work?

Wicked is a musical about Glinda the Good & the Wicked Witch of the West before Dorothy came to the Land of Oz. The set, the costumes and the plot will really blow you away! See this one!

Wow! Is this place HUGE or what! We spent about 3 hrs here & I don't think we even saw half of it but it was amazing! My favourite section was the Space exhibit.

A concorde, spacecraft, an air craft carrier & lots of military planes make up this museum. It was a fun place to explore.
